New Delhi: After BJP’s Shehzad Poonawalla accused Trinamool MP Mahua Moitra of “hiding her expensive bag” during a discussion on price rise in the Lok Sabha, the latter took a jibe at the former with the collage of her pictures featuring her handbags.
Taking to Twitter, Mahua Moitra shared a collage of pictures where she is seen carrying her handbag. Sharing the post, she captioned it, “Jholewala fakir in Parliament since 2019.Jhola leke aye the… jhola leke chal padenge… (Came with a bag, will leave with it).” She also took a jibe at Narendra Modi who made a similar remark during a 2016 rally.

Poonawalla posted a short video on his Twitter account where Mahua Moitra was seen picking her handbag from her side and setting it down on the floor under the desk in front of her while another member of the house spoke on price rise.

The counterattack between BJP’s Poonawalla and Mahua Moitra comes amid a discussion in Parliament on inflation and price rise. Opposition parties have restricted the functioning of the Parliament since the Monsoon session began over two weeks back demanding a discussion on the issue.
