‘Justice For Srimathi’ trends at top on Twitter over class 12 student’s death in Tamil Nadu

Hundreds of Youth and villagers gathered to protest against a private residential school in Tamil Nadu’s Kaniyamoor on Sunday morning.

New Delhi: Following the death of a 17-year-old girl from class 12, Hundreds of Youth and villagers gathered to protest against a private residential school in Tamil Nadu’s Kaniyamoor on Sunday morning. Amid the demand for justice for the death of the student, the protest turned violent and the protestors also damaged vehicles belonging to the police and the school.

Soon after the matter came on social media, hashtags such as Justice for Srimathi, Justice for Defence Students, and International Justice Day started trending at the top on Twitter. Many videos have also shared of the protest in which people were seen standing at the school building.

A user shared his reaction on Twitter, ”we want Justice…..Tamilnadu Government has to Tell Answer For This……I am Also An students …I can ask Against Anyone.”

”This is just a sample of people’s anger Towards her Justice !,” tweeted another user.

”I hope whoever is responsible for her death is held accountable,” wrote a user.

On the incident, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin wrote on Twitter in Tamil, ”The situation in Kallakurichi is deplorable. After the ongoing police investigation into the student’s death, the culprits will surely be punished.”

In another tweet, the CM requested everyone to maintain peace and trust.  ”I have ordered the Home Secretary and the Director General of Police to go to Kallakurichi. I request the public to maintain peace and trust in the government’s actions,” said CM in Tamil.
