Kanpur encounter: History-sheeter Vikas Dubey ‘spotted’ in Faridabad’s hotel, escapes before UP police teams raid the Hotel

The UP Police has put up posters of Dubey on the National Highway. IG Laxmi Singh of Lucknow has started investigating the case. On the other hand, the victim’s family has expressed confidence in the government’s investigation.

New Delhi: In a major breakthrough, notorious gangster Vikas Dubey was ‘spotted’ at a hotel in Faridabad. Joint Teams have raided the hotel and arrested a close aide of Vikas Dubey who claims that Vikas was staying with him in Faridabad after being on a run on Tuesday, police said.

In the CCTV grab, Vikas Dubey is seen wearing a dark black shirt, jeans and mask. In another CCTV grab, he can be seen standing roadside with a carry bag.

This comes after the claim by Vikas Dubey’s close aide, massive manhunt to arrest Vikas Dubey has started in the Delhi-NCR area. More than 40 teams of Uttar Pradesh Police are doing massive manhunt in the state as well as neighbouring states too. Teams have also gone to Nepal border to search for Vikas Dubey.

Amar Dubey shot dead

A close aide of the UP gangster – Amar Dubey – was shot dead early Wednesday morning during an encounter by UP’s Special Task Force (STF) in Hamirpur district, about 150 km from state capital Lucknow.

Kanpur Encounter

Eight police personnel including DSP Devendra Mishra were gunned down in Bikru village near Kanpur by the henchmen of Dubey. Seven others, including a civilian, were injured in the attack from a rooftop on a police team after it entered the village to arrest the gangster, a history-sheeter who has faced about 60 criminal cases.
