New Delhi: Two top-ranking bureaucrats in Karnataka engaged in a social media spat on Sunday, leaving the IAS, IPS associations along with state government embarrassed & red-faced.

The much public bitter fight between IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri and IPS officer D Rupa was simmering for sometime and escalated into a slugfest on Sunday, reports said.

IPS officer D Roopa, also the Managing Director (MD) of Karnataka State Handicrafts Development Corporation, shared a Facebook post on Sunday, alleging that IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri had posted her pictures with several male IAS officers.

She also made personal remarks against IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri, also Muzrai Department Commissioner, of corruption & many other wrongdoings.

Hitting back at the IPS officer, IAS Sindhuri rejected the charges as baseless & called it a ‘smear campaign’ against her. She said that IPS officer was acting out of ‘personal hatred’ to scandalize her and also said that she needed counseling.

Embarrassed with the bickering bureaucrats in full public view, the Karnataka Home Minister Araga Jnanendra today said that strict action will follow on both the erring women officers.

“They must be punished. I have already spoken to DG and the CM is also thinking about this. They had been warned before… this is under Chief Minister’s observation, he’ll take a decision on this,” said Jnanendra.

The two women officers got into a bitter squabble over social media posts. According to reports, IPS Roopa hurled 19 allegations on IAS Sindhuri on Saturday and also shared some photos, which she claimed that the other woman officer had shared with male colleagues. In return, the woman IAS officer accused the former of resorting to a vilification campaign against her for some personal motives.
