Karnataka: PWD engineer hides Rs 500 notes in drainage pipes, ACB raid shows cash flowing out in bulk (VIDEO)

Money and valuables were dumped in the Pipeline connection of the house. ACB officials were able to recover the cash with the help of a plumber.

New Delhi: Simultaneous search operations has been conducted at 60 places across Karnataka by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday. Raids were conducted at various whereabouts related to 15 government officials in different departments in alleged unfair assets.

The ACB team included Eight Superintendents of Police of ACB unit, among 400 other police officials. “We are seizing cash, valuables and documents as part of the probe”, an ACB official said while denying to disclose any details regarding the operation.

The ACB officials were astonished when PWD Joint Engineer Shantha Gowda Biradar’s residence was searched. Gold was seized in bulk from his house. Cash amount of 25 lakh rupees was seized as well. According to the reports, as the search team approached Biradar’s residence, he dumped the money and valuables in the Pipeline connection of his house.

ACB officials were able to recover the cash with the help of a plumber.

Meanwhile, other officials targeted during the operation include K.S. Lingegowda, executive engineer, Smart City, Mangaluru; Srinivas K. executive engineer, HLBC, Mandya; TS Rudreshappa, joint director, agriculture department in Gadag; Cooperative Development Officer of Savadatti AK Masti; Sadashiv Maralingannanavar, senior motor inspector, Gokak; Nathaji Heeraji Patil, a Grade ‘C’ employee at Hescom in Belagavi; SM Biradar, junior engineer, PWD and KS Shivanand, retired sub-registrar; Ballari.
