Kejriwal seeks meeting with Rahul & Kharge, this Cong leader wants him to apologize first

The Supreme Court had granted power to Delhi government to appoint & transfer administrative service officers but just a day later, the Centre brought an ordinance, thus making the SC order ‘ineffectual’.

New Delhi: While the ganged up Opposition attempts to stymie the new Parliament inaugural event, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday sought time from Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge & party’s tall leader Rahul Gandhi, regarding the Centre’s ordinance over control of administrative services in the capital.

AAP convenor took to Twitter to inform that he is looking forward to Congress support in taking on the government in Parliament over latter’s lopsided ordinance.

He said that the two parties will also discuss ‘abuse of constitutional framework’ by BJP government and also constant assault on federal structure of the country.

Notably, the Supreme Court had granted power to appoint & transfer administrative service officers to Delhi government but just a day later, the Centre brought an ordinance, thus making the SC order ‘ineffectual’.

The meeting between AAP & Congress, if fructifies, will be watched with curiosity as both have been at the odds and Kejriwal’s repeated satires at Rahul & Congress party left the latter embarrassed, a couple of times.

Alka Lamba, the Congress leader & once a close aide of Kejriwal objected to AAP-Congress meet and said that the AAP convenor must apologize to Sonia, Rahul Gandhi & entire Gandhi family, before seeking support.

“AAP should first apologise to Congress, ex-Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, former prime minister Dr Manmohan Singh, late ex-CM Sheila Dixit and Gandhi family,” Alka Lamba said.

Notably, the AAP government is trying to galvanize support for its opposition to Centre’s ordinance on control of services in Delhi. Yesterday, Kejriwal met Sharad Pawar at his resident and sought his support . Delhi CM also met TMC supremo Mamata and sought his support on the ordinance that put curbs on its administrative powers.

For the unversed, the Centre on May 20 brought an ordinance to nullify the SC order which gave Delhi govt control over city’s services. This set up fresh showdown between the Centre & AAP dispensation.
