Khalistani sympathizer Amritpal Singh likely to surrender while police continues hunt

The Punjab police intensified its search operation against Amritpal Singh after getting a rap on its knuckles from Punjab & Haryana High Court.

New Delhi: Self-styled Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh is likely to surrender even as Punjab police continues wide-scale manhunt for him.

The Punjab Police launched a major crackdown on March 18 to arrest him but the pro-Khalistani group Waris Punjab De managed to flee from the spot and till date remains on the run. Today, the hunt for him entered 12th day.

Though, there is no confirmation about his surrender but reports suggest that the radical preacher might surrender before Akal Takht.

Cops look out continues

The Punjab police has intensified its search operation against Amritpal Singh after getting a rap on its knuckles from Punjab & Haryana High Court.

Last night, it searched many areas in Hoshiarpur village in the state after some people abandoned their vehicles during chase & ran away.

Cops suspected that absconding Amritpal & his aides could be inside those vehicles.

Police mounted vigil in the adjacent villages and also alerted border checkposts to apprehend anyone suspicious trying to sneak through.

Amritpal’s new video surfaces

While Punjab police continuing search for Amritpal, CCTV footages, though unconfirmed, continue to surface on social media.

Latest CCTV footage, undated, showed him roaming somewhere in the national capital. His pictures, without a turban & with goggles, was said to be from a market area in Delhi.

The crackdown against Amritpal & his supporters began after they recently barged into Ajnala police station with arms & weapons despite heavy police presence and forced release of their aide.
