New Delhi: In a fresh controversy surrounding the famed Kulhad Pizza couple of Jalandhar district, the proprietors of popular pizza restaurant have again found themselves in the eye of storm over disrespectful & profane remarks against Sikh religion.
The Kulhad Pizza couple have been accused by Nihang Sikh outfits of hurting their religions sentiments and disrespecting their beliefs in a social media video.
As the row escalated, Kulhad Pizza owner Sehaj Arora today went LIVE from his social media account, clarifying over the latest controversy and also regretted if the viral video had hurt anyone’s beliefs & feelings.
He also acknowledged the controversy and admitted that the video in question was a reel, recorded in response to a new song. He said that they felt sorry, if someone felt offended by their video reel.
“I haven’t sung any song, I have just tried to lip sync on the song”, he said.
He also accused the group of creating trouble for them, for some vested interests.
“For some days, we have seen some constant disturbance outside our shop. This is being done with a motive,” he said in the LIVE video.
Why Sikh outfits got enraged
On Thursday, many members of Nihang Sikh outfits gathered outside their Kulhad Pizza restaurant and staged angry protests against them. They should slogans and protested against the couple for trying to popularizing their restaurant chain at the cost of their religious beliefs.
While they vented anger at the couple, the commotion saw assembly of many people outside the shop.
The situation turned volatile as some of them threatened the restaurant owner with dire consequences. Threatening messages also surfaced on social media, which called for setting their restaurant ablaze for act of profanity.
Kulhad Pizza couple rise to fame
Sehaj Arora and Gurmeet Kaur, the recently married couple shot to fame with their one of its kind pizza creation. This not made them popular but carved a celebrity style status in the state.
