New Delhi: Acclaimed poet Kumar Vishwas landed up in a major controversy on Wednesday as his security staff allegedly thrashed a doctor brutally and mercilessly on Noida-Aligarh highway.
According to reports, fracas broke out between Kumar Vishwas’ security men and a doctor named Pallav Bajpayee apparently after their vehicles met with a collision. Following this, the doctor was beaten black & blue apparently at the behest of the noted poet.
The matter of daylight assault on Kumar Vishwas convoy initially surfaced this afternoon, as latter took to X (formerly called Twitter) and informed about an unknown person hitting his secuirtymen’s car from behind and also getting into heated altercation with them. However, within minutes, the flip side of the story surfaced as the doctor, with injuries & blood on his face came before the media to put forward his point.

The incident reportedly took place underneath the flyover situated next to Hindon river.
What Dr Pallav Bajpayee said on brazen assault
Dr Pallav Bajpayee reported the matter in Indirapuram Police Station about the brazen assault on him by a VIP person’s security guards and said that he was thrashed for no fault of him.
The doctor said that the security guards of Kumar Vishwas first abused him & called him names and when he tried to reason with them, they started thrashing him badly. The CRPF personnel guarding Kumar Vishwas reportedly took him into the bushes and rained punches.
“The armed guards not just beat me but also threatened to shoot me,” doctor said.
The doctor said that he didn’t breach the security cordon of the VIP person but was still subjected to torturous treatment. He didn’t name Kumar Vishwas as he couldn’t see who was sitting behind the tinted glasses.

Kumar Vishwas broke the news but ‘with a twist’
Kumar Vishwas took to X this afternoon around 2.35 PM and informed that his convoy was attacked by an unknown commuter while he was on his way to Aligarh.
“I left my Vasundhara home for Aligarh. While passing through Hindon river, a commuter hit the vehicle of my security guards. When they intercepted the rough rider, latter got into heated argument with them and also tried attacking them,” Vishwas tweeted.

The poet-turned-politician further informed that he reported the matter to police and was yet to know about the reasons behind this trespassing.
Police statement
Indirapuram Police has taken note of the incident involving Kumar Vishwas and said that the matter was under investigation.
It refused to corroborate allegations by any side as both sides have shared contrasting versions about the mishap.

Netizens vent ire against VIP culture
While the incident created a furore on the social media, the anger & outrage was palpable against Kumar Vishwas. Many vent ire against the VIP culture and how the system was taken for a ride by those in power (read Kumar Vishwas here) while other lashed at the noted poet for twisting the entire episode and presenting it as an attack on himself while the viral video cleared showed that the doctor was beaten mercilessly by his security guards.
