Lakhimpur Kheri violence case: SC cancels bail granted to Ashish Mishra, directs him to surrender within a week

Lakhimpur Kheri violence case: SC cancelled bail granted to Ashish Mishra, son of Union minister Ajay Mishra.

New Delhi: Supreme Court today cancelled bail granted to Ashish Mishra, son of Union minister Ajay Mishra Teni, in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case.

Further, the Court has directed him to surrender within a week.

Supreme Court has also set aside the Allahabad High Court’s order which granted bail to Ashish Mishra in the case.

This comes after the family members of the victims of the Lakhimpur Kheri incident moved the Supreme Court challenging the Allahabad High Court order, which granted bail to Ashish Mishra.

Eight people were killed in the violence that erupted in the Lakhimpur Kheri when farmers were protesting against Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya’s visit to the area.

This is a developing story.
