New Delhi: In a major action against Khalistani supporter Amritpal Singh, the Punjab police on Saturday launched a major clamp down against the self-styled leader, who projects himself as the leader of Khalistani movement.
Heavy police deployment has been made in Moga & adjoining districts of Punjab.
According to reports, the Punjab cops are chasing the convoy of Amritpal Singh and his arrest is just a matter of time. About 100 police vans are said to be following up the convoy of Amritpal Singh. Police forces of at least 8 districts have been activated to apprehend the Khalistani leader.
The Punjab cops have apprehended six close aides of Amritpal Singh, so far and more arrests are likely.
Amritpal Singh & his supporters held the police department to ransom when they stormed Ajnala police station recently and forcefully got his aide released from the prison. A week prior to that, Amritpal’s supporters created havoc on Chandigarh streets, brandishing sharp weapons & swords despite presence of heavy police personnel.
