New Delhi: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) today issued fresh guidelines for the extended lockdown for containing the spread of novel Coronavirus.
In the Lockdown 4.0, states will have a considerable role to play, as they have entrusted with the task of designating Covid-19 zones – Green, Orange or Red zone. In fact, this was the key demand of states during last week’s meeting between Chief Ministers and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Air travel and metro services remain prohibited across the country, however, the Centre has allowed bus and other public transport – both intra and inter-state, subject to the approval of both the states.
Within Red and Orange zones, containment and buffer zones will be demarcated by district authorities, after taking into considerations guidelines of MOHFW, the release said.
Only essential activities in containment zones, night curfew to stay
In the containment zones, only essential activities will be allowed. There shall be strict enforcement of social distancing, intensive contact tracing, house-to-house surveillance and other clinical interventions, if required.
The night curfew will remain in place with movement of individuals being restricted between 7 PM to 7 AM, except for essential activities.
