“Lost my father to the politics of hate, won’t lose my beloved country to…”: Rahul Gandhi after visiting Rajiv Gandhi Memorial

Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated in a suicide bomb blast while campaigning for the Lok Sabha polls in 1991.

New Delhi: Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday shared a picture of him paying tribute to the former prime minister and his father Rajiv Gandhi at the Rajiv Gandhi Memorial in Sriperumbudur.

He was assassinated in a suicide bomb blast while campaigning for the Lok Sabha polls in 1991.

Rahul sharing a picture said he lost his father “to the politics of hate and division”.

Rahul Gandhi also attended a prayer meet in the morning and paid floral tribute to his father. He was also seen sitting in front of the memorial for about 25 minutes.

Rahul Gandhi will proceed to Kanyakumari, he will address a rally where he will officially kickstart the nationwide Bharat Jodo Yatra.

According to the reports, Rahul Gandhi will take shelter in containers installed with sleeping beds, toilet and AC instead of staying in Hotel.
