In Delhi’s Madhu Vihar area, SHO Rajeev Kumar’s quick response to SOS calls and the way he addressed needs of poor migrants has made him win hearts.

Soon after the lockdown began, many migrants assembled at Anand Vihar station but couldn’t leave for their hometown because of trains cancellation. With no water and food, they were in pitiable condition. Madhu Vihar SHO was among the first to come to their rescue.

While doing all this, all lockdown guidelines were followed. A plan was prepared to avoid gathering at the police station for distributing food. A list of 103 breastfeeding toddlers and lactating mothers was made.

“Effort was made to provide special food to lactating mother and infants as they needed special nutrition,” said SHO Rajeev Kumar.

Madhu Vihar SHO deserves credit for going beyond the call of duty and extending helping hand to the needy.
