New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a 16-year-old boy allegedly raped a 58-year-old woman and killed her in Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa district.
The incident is said to have taken place on the night of January 30 in Kailashpuri village.
According to reports, the minor had allegedly stuffed a plastic bag and cloth into the woman’s mouth and dragged her to the under-construction part of the building where she lived, and later hit her sickle. He also injured her private parts with a stick, an official said.
Two years ago, the woman’s family had accused the boy of stealing a mobile phone and for this reason, he wanted to take revenge for it.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Vivek Lal said they received information about the incident on February 1.
The boy was caught after they received a tip-off from informers and the investigation.
The official also expressed suspicions on the boy who used to come to their house to watch television two years back.
The family members have also accused the boy of stealing a mobile phone which led to enmity between the boy and the family, police said.
After the embarrassment that he had faced due to the allegations, he wanted to take revenge.
The crime took place when the woman’s son and husband were out of the station.
After killing the woman he fled with Rs 1,000 cash and jewellery from her house.
The Official said that after the boy was detained he confessed to doing the crime.
The boy was sent to a juvenile home and a case has been registered against him under various Indian Penal Code Sections (IPC).
