The Maghi Purnima is considered one of the most auspicious festivals of India. Hindus take dip in holy river ganga and read Lord Satyanarayan Katha on this day to get the blessings of lord vishnu and Goddess lakshmi. It is said that the Maghi Purnima is considered one of the rare occasions to please Goddess Lakshmi if you want to attract wealth and prosperity in your lives.

It is also believed that many gods visit the ghats of river ganga on this day. All those people who can manage to take bath in river ganga can take the divine blessings of the lord and get rid of all the anxiety and obstacles from life.

 

Six important things you must follow on this day-

You must get up before sun rise on this day. If you are not able to take bath in some holy river near your location then you must put some drops of the Ganga jal in your bathing water along with til and then take a shower.

After this, offer prayer to Lord Sun by giving water mix with red chandan and jaggery.

Worshipping the Tulsi plant is also considered special on this day. You must offer prayer to the Tulsi Plant by chanting any Vishnu Mantra. Offer a diya in front of the Tulsi Plant in the morning and evening.

Once this is done , you can perform your daily puja. If possible chant any lord Vishnu mantra or read Satya Narayan katha on this day.

It is also said that if you want to seek the blessings of Mata Lakshmi then you must prepare a Rangoli outside your main door, try to decorate the entrance with flowers and colours.

last but not the least, you must take out some offerings to be given to the poor or the temple. You can take some flour, rice, daal, milk, fruits, til or anything to offer. Offering given on this day is considered to bring good luck and fortune.
