New Delhi: While the nation is yet recovering from Shraddha Walkar’s murder by her live-in partner Aftab Poonawala, now a man has been arrested for killing his live-in partner in the Palghar district of Maharashtra.
The accused identified as Hardik Shah allegedly killed his 37-year-old woman and kept her body in the storage area of the bed at their rented house.
He was apprehended by the railway police in Nagda, Madhya Pradesh while he was reportedly trying to flee with some money after selling off some household items
The victim has been identified as Megha (40). The duo were in a relationship for three years and had been living together for the past six months.
The accused is the son of a diamond trader from Malad.
According to reports, he killed his live-in partner on Saturday and the crime came to the limelight on Monday.
The accused was unemployed while the victim was a nurse. Since Megha controlled all the household expenses, resulting in quarrels between them.
Police said a crime branch team will be taking custody of the accused.
Police also said that the neighbours complained about their frequent quarrels.
In a similar incident, a 24-year-old man, Sahil Gehlot killed his girlfriend Niki Yadav in National Capital and stored her body in a fridge of his dhaba.
After killing her he also married another woman on the same day.

Shraddha Walkar murder case
Shraddha Walkar was killed by her live-in partner Aftab Poonawala in May 2022 in Delhi’s Mehrauli area. Aftab is accused of killing Shraddha and cutting her body parts into 35 pieces and disposing of them in a nearby jungle.
