Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra is under fire for her opinion on Hindu Goddess Kali made during a conclave organised by a leading TV channel.

New Delhi: Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra is under fire for her opinion on Hindu Goddess Kali made during a conclave organised by a leading TV channel. TMC also distanced itself from her remark on the goddess. The BJP leaders criticised Moitra for insulting Hindu Gods and Goddesses. Moreover, people on social media are demanding an apology from Moitra under the hashtag Mahua Moitra Mafi Mango.

In her statement during the conclave, Moitra said, ”Goddess Kaali is a meat-eating, alcohol-accepting deity.”

Defending her remark, Karimpur MP said, ”This is my freedom and I have the right to imagine Kali in that way (envision a meat-eating goddess).”

Mahua Moitra

Hitting out Moitra, social media head of BJP Amit Malviya asked if the ”freedom of speech is only insulting Hindu Gods and Goddesses”.

Let’s check below here how people reacted on Twitter under the hashtag:

”It’s really shameful & disgusting to hear what @MahuaMoitra has mentioned about Ma Kali. I have been worshipping Dakshineswar Kali since childhood being Kali Bhakt never ever Saw meat and alcohol offering given to Kali. At least be afraid of Ma Kali Mahua,” wrote a user namely Rahul Jha.

”Hindus must listen. This lady intentionally hurts Hindu sentiments. Never ever forgive her,” said another user.
