After Thailand & Srilanka, Malaysia announces Visa Free Entry for Indians from December 1st

New Delhi: In some good news for students and travel aspirants, the Malaysian PM has scrapped the visa entry requirements for Indian and Chinese citizens. The Prime Minister made the announcement while addressing a public rally. The Prime Minister said that Chinese and Indian nationals can now enjoy visa-free stays upto 30 days in the country. The move is taken to boost the tourism industry and to improve the financial sector. Meanwhile, China also announced that citizens from six countries including Malaysia will be allowed to enter their city without a visa. The move will come into effect from December 1st.

 

Malaysian Government made the move to the uplift tourism industry, strengthen diplomatic ties and to encourage students and travellers to visit their country. According to the Prime Minister’s office, screenings will be conducted for all the tourists and visitors entering Malaysia. If someone is found with a criminal record or of suspicious background then that person will not be allowed to enter.

 

Currently Malaysian Airlines run over 158 flights run weekly between India and Malaysia. According to official records, Malaysia recorded over 9.6 million tourists between January and june this year. And in a similar move, Thailand and Srilanka also announced visa waivers giving travelers a hassle free journey. Thailand tourism also expressed their excitement

Thailand also allowed Visa-Free entry for Indians

Thailand also allowed visa-free entry for Indian Citizens recently to improve their economic growth. According to the official statement by the Thailand government, Indians are allowed to travel without a Visa from November 30th till May 2024. Indians are also allowed to stay for 30 days without a Visa.

Srilankan Govt took the step to promote Tourism

In Srilanka Indians are allowed to travel without a Visa till March 31st 2024. This move was introduced by the government to boost the Tourism Industry which was badly hit during Covid-19 Pandemic.

Countries that allow Visa-Free Travel

Other Countries that allow Indians for Visa-Free Travel are Bhutan, Hong Kong, Barbados, Qatar, Oman, Micronesia, Dominica, Greenada, Haiti, Jamaica, St Kitts, St Vincent, Grenadines, Trinidad, Tobago, Kazakhstan, Macao, Nepal, Senegal and Tunisia. The fresh entry to this list is Srilanka and Thailand which provided Visa Facilities to Indian Citizens.
