Matrize Opinion Poll: If assembly elections held in Maharashtra today, who will form govt, how will Shiv Sena fare?

According to ZeeNews-Matrize survey, the BJP will emerge as the single largest party in state, if elections are held today.

New Delhi: The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government fell after Eknath Shinde rebelled with a big faction of Shiv Sena MLAs in Maharashtra. After this, Eknath Shinde formed the government in alliance with the BJP. The BJP surprised everyone by making Eknath Shinde, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra. And Devendra Fadnavis was made the deputy CM of the state.

While the Assembly elections in state are a year ahead, ZEE NEWS along with MATRIZE conducted a survey to gauge the mood of the people of Maharashtra. The Survey collated opinion of more than 36,000 people on current govt’s functioning and also sought to know who would be their choice in next Assembly elections, slated in 2024. The survey also found out electorate’s leaning towards divided factions of Shiv Sena.

According to ZeeNews-Matrize survey, the BJP will emerge as the single largest party in state, if elections are held today. According to the poll survey, the BJP will win between 121 to 131 seats. The Shiv Sena faction of Eknath Shinde may receive 44-54 seats. That means the BJP-led coalition can easily establish a government in 288 assembly seats.

Maha survey - 2

The BJP alliance has been predicted to get 165-185 seats. Mahavikas Aghadi alliance is seen suffering a setback while Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena getting reduced to single digits or barely reaching in double digits. Congress is seen faring better with 39-49 seats and NCP at 41-51, while MNS can get 02-05 and others can get 12-22 seats.

Talking about vote share, BJP is expected to get 30.2% votes, Shinde Shivsena faction 16.2%, Uddhav’s Shivsena 9.2% votes. Apart from this, Congress can get 14.3%, 11.1%, MNS 2.8% and others 16.2% vote share.

The Survey also gathered opinion of poeple on Eknath Shinde govt as well as his role as CM. About 50.9 percent rated the govt as very good, while 26.5% have said satisfactory, 17.3% have said very poor.
