Meerut DM Deepak Meena, former DM Anil Dhingra honored with Prime Minister’s Award

Both were honored by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at an official event held at Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi

New Delhi: The 15th Civil Services Day was a special day for Meerut as city’s two Deputy Commissioners (DMs), serving as well as former were honoured with Prime Minister’s Award for their remarkable work in the administrative service.

Meerut’s serving DM Deepak Meena and former DM Anil Dhingra were felicitated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Vigyan Bhawan on Thursday. They were also handed over a citation for extraordinary work in taking forward various flagship schemes of government including financial projects and PM Bank Loan scheme.

Both the serving & former DMs got the privilege of winning the Prime Minister’s Award, a first for the city. Both were honoured by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at an event held at Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi.

Anil Dhingra, former Meerut DM was credited and honoured for his notable work in the financial sector from April 2018 to March 2021. Elated over the recognition, he said that he did his best in expanding the PM loan schemes to lower & underprivileged strata of the society and strived hard to make capital available to farmers & villagers.

“Small entrepreneurs & villagers too dream big but are unable to realise the dream because of paucity of funds. We made sure that fund is made available to them for pursuing their venture. In 2 years, we distributed more than Rs 18,000 crore in Meerut alone,” Anil Dhingra told newsmen after receiving the award.

Current DM Deepak Meena, while serving as DM in Siddharthnagar district, did remarkable work in improving the quality of black salt rice grown there, increasing its production, and helping it get international recognition.

At the function, a documentary film on the Meerut city was also screened and the progress work in the district was showcased in the exhibition.
