Mizoram-Assam border dispute to be resolved “amicably through meaningful dialogue”: Mizoram CM Zoramthanga

New Delhi: Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga on Sunday asserted that he had discussed the matter with his Assam counterpart Himanta Biswa Sarma and Home Minister Amit Shah, and that they agree with his view.

CM Zoramthanga also urged the citizens of Mizoram to “avoid posting sensitive messages” on social media.

This comes two days after Mizoram Police filed a First Information Report against Assam CM Sarma, four police officers and two bureaucrats on charges of attempt to murder and criminal conspiracy in connection with the clashes at the inter-state border on July 26.

One injured policeman succumbed to his injuries later taking the total number of policemen killed to six. At least 50 people were injured in the incident. A total of six companies of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) have been deployed at the site where the policemen died, he added.
