Munnawar Rana in trouble, FIR lodged against him for justifying France terror attack

French anti-terrorism prosecutor Jean-Francois Ricard confirmed on Thursday that the attacker in Nice was from Tunisia and had arrived in France on October 9.

Lucknow: FIR filed against poet Munawwar Rana at Hazratganj Police Station under relevant sections of IPC for allegedly making objectionable remarks over the recent terrorist attacks in France.

Rana has come out in support of the attacker by justifying the killings.

Speaking to the media, Munawwar said that the caricatures are made to defame Prophet Muhammad and Islam. Such acts force people to take extreme steps as in the case of France. He further said that he too would have done the same had he been in his place.

Munawwar also targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that his support for France in the case is due to to the Rafael deal with the country. He went on to say that honour killings like Akhlaq have been happening for a long time in India but no one has shown any concern.

Meanwhile,  Kumar Vishvas also reacted to the popular poet Munawwar’s controversial statement.

This is a developing story.
