Nation staying in homes but this bar in Ghaziabad serving liquor & hooka, raided; 50 youngsters held

Ghaziabad hook bar raided: As per initial investigation by the police, all these youngsters are from Delhi who visited this restaurant in the suburbs for a gala time.

New Delhi: The Ghaziabad Police and city administration team raided a restaurant in Kaushambi’s Angel Mall in the city on Friday night and apprehended at least 50 boys and girls, who were consuming liquor and hooka. The hooka bar manager was also arrested for open and blatant disregard of Covid-19 norms in the restaurant.

Ghaziabad SDM told mediapersons that liquor and hooka was illegally served to youngsters in the restaurant named ‘No Rules’.

“Those assembled there were consuming liquor and hooka with no regard for Covid-19 rules. Social distancing norms was thrown out of the window,” he said.

All those detained are being questioned and made to follow the law.

Raids were Ghaziabad SP Abhishek Verma said that liquor was illegally served in the ‘No Rules’ restaurant. Hooka was offered to visitors despite ban on it. And, the social distancing and others norms to keep Covid-19 at bay were ignored and trampled upon.

The Police Team took restaurant manager, staff and 50 people in custody including 15 girls. Under the pandemic act, it is being mulled whether licence of the restaurant can be revoked.
