
New Delhi: National Commission for Women (NCW) has written to Twitter India “to immediately block Bollywood actor Siddharth’s tweet on shuttler Saina Nehwal.
NCW has called Siddharth’s tweet as “misogynist and outrageous.”
This comes after Rang De Basanti actor Siddharth’s reply to a tweet of ace badminton player Saina Nehwal on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s security breach in Punjab.
The actor wrote, “Subtle cock champion of the world… Thank God we have protectors of India (sic).”
In another Tweet he also said that nothing disrespectful was intended, said or insinuated.
The actor faced criticism over his Tweet on social media.
NCW has also written to DGP Maharashtra “to immediately investigate the matter and register FIR” under IPC section 354A and section 67 of the IT Act.
NCW Chairperson Rekha Sharma has also written to DGP of Tamil Nadu to take prompt and strict action against the actor.

Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi who often speaks up in the favor of women and women rights also slammed Siddharth.
BJP leader Khushbu Sundar also said that the actor has has taken his hatred for Prime Minister so far that he has started to insult a woman, an icon.’
However this is not the first time that the actor has raised outrage with his Tweet.

On January 5th, PM Modi’s convoy was stopped for about 15-20 minutes on a flyover after some protesters blocked his way. After this incident, PM Modi’s rally in the Punjab’s region was cancelled due to the lapse in security.
Soon after this a huge row has stirred up and currently the matter is under investigation.
