The Noida Police arrested five people including two women for allegedly honey-trapping a news anchor and extorting Rs 25,000 from him.

They were also threatening to upload online a few of his objectionable pictures.

According to the news anchor, he had met one of the women during a photography event at a mall six months ago and exchanged contact details.

They were arrested from Som Bazar Sadarpur by the personnel of Noida Sector 39 police station.

Aazad Singh Tomar, the SHO of Sector 39 police station, said the accused had initially demanded Rs 2 lakh from the anchor and beat him up when he pleaded inability to pay so much.

The anchor jumped out of a moving car to escape. “When the news anchor started vomiting, they took him to Vinayak Hospital. They were driving back when the man jumped off the vehicle on Dadri road,” the officer said. While Kuldeep works as a manager at a spa in Sector 18, Sonty is a gym trainer and Lucky sells clothes on the streets. The women are believed to have worked at the spa where Kuldeep worked.
