Kota student dies after falling from balcony of Hostel’s sixth-floor (VIDEO)

New Delhi: A 20-year-old from West Bengal, a NEET candidate died after falling from his hostel building’s sixth storey in the Jawahar Nagar locality. Ishanshu Bhattacharya, the victim, and three other students from his dorm were chatting on the balcony of the sixth level of the building when the tragedy happened. He may have fallen about midnight while returning to his room after losing his footing.

Ishanshu lost his stance and fell against a balcony’s aluminum railing, which couldn’t support his weight and broke, said Circle Officer Amar Singh.

According to the officer, he passed away right away after falling from the building’s sixth floor, and a hospital declared him dead.

Ishanshu, a Jalpaiguri district native from Dhupguri in West Bengal, arrived in Kota in August of last year to study for the NEET medical entrance exam.

According to him, the victim’s body has been transported to MBS hospital for a postmortem examination, which will be completed after his family members show up.

In a separate incident, on January 29, a 17-year-old Maharashtrian JEE Mains applicant from Kota who was preparing for the entrance exam is said to have fallen from the balcony on the first floor of his hostel building and received serious injuries.

The injured student is still in serious condition and receiving treatment in a private hospital in the city.
