On TV anchor’s complaint, UP CMO makes quick intervention, 2 men who chased her arrested (VIDEO)

Charul Sharma, a news anchor from Meerut district was stalked and chased by 2 bike-borne eve-teasers while she was on her way to home. She tweeted and sought help, following which UP police sprung into action and nabbed the culprits.

New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Police is winning praise for quick action on eve-teasers who reportedly chased a female news journalist while she was on her way to home.

Charul Sharma, a news anchor from Meerut district was stalked and chased by 2 bike-borne eve-teasers while she was on her way to home. Anticipating trouble, the journalist quickly took out her phone, clicked a photo and small clip and uploaded on Twitter. Tagging the police administration, she sought help from UP Police as well as Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).

UP CMO took prompt cognisance of her social media post and directed police to nab the bike-borne harassers/eve-teasers.

UP Police nabbed stalkers in 2 hours

The journalist, who is serving in a reputed private media group, wrote on the micro-blogging site, “Dear Meerut Police, can you trace these people, who are constantly harassing me from Hapur to Nai Sarak. I failed to note their vehicle number because the scooty did not have the number plate on it.”


Following this, Meerut police sprung into action and within 2 hours of the incident, it nabbed the culprits who were identified as Shahbaz and Mohammed Wasik.

According to the senior police official, “This is a matter of pride for the Police department that though there was no number plate on the scooty, the culprits were arrested within two hours and strict action has also been taken against them.”


TV journalist all praise for CM Yogi

In this case, a Jupiter scooty with the number UP15CM9217 has also been recovered.

Praising the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath led BJP government, Charul said, “I am really proud of UP government and the police department. Every girl in this state is safe as long as we have such heroes with us.”
