Owaisi’s convoy under attack? Bullets fired at my car, says AIMIM chief

Owaisi said that there were a total of three people, 2 of whom fired bullets at his vehicle. He also claimed that tyres of his vehicle were punctured and he had to leave the site in another vehicle.

New Delhi: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Thursday made a stunning charge that bullets were fired upon his vehicle while he was returning to Delhi after addressing an election meet in Kithaur of Meerut district.

The firing at Owaisi’s convoy reportedly happened near Chhajarsi toll plaza.

Owaisi said that there were a total of three people, 2 of whom fired bullets at his vehicle. He also claimed that tyres of his vehicle were punctured and he had to leave the site in another vehicle.

“I was leaving for Delhi after a poll event in Kithaur, Meerut. Around three to four rounds of bullets were fired upon my vehicle by two people near Chhajarsi toll plaza, they were a total of three to four people. The tyres of my vehicle punctured, I left on another vehicle,” the AIMIM said in a tweet.

The attack on Owaisi’s convoy was condemned by UP Minister Mohsin Raza.

“It is an unfortunate incident and the matter will be taken up seriously,” Raza said.
