New Delhi: PM MITRA mega textile parks are slated to emerge as next ‘growth engine’ of India’s economy by attracting big-ticket investments and also generating lakhs of employment opportunities. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday took to his personal Twitter handle and informed that PM MITRA mega textile parks will soon be set up in 7 states namely Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh & Uttar Pradesh. These mega textile parks are being set up under the 5 F vision i.e. Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign. Once set in motion, these Textile parks will get the much needed fillip to India’s Textiles sector and will become a key constituent of growth. With this scheme, the government intends to develop integrated large scale & modern infrastructural facilities, where all value-chain of the Textile industry could co-exist and in turn, churn out much more than what they could do earlier. The establishment of Mega Textile parks will also reduce logistics costs & increase competitiveness of the Indian Textile industry.
