PM MITRA textile parks, being set up in 7 states, would be ‘Make for the World’: PM Modi

These mega textile parks are being set up under the 5 F vision i.e. Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign.

New Delhi: PM MITRA mega textile parks are slated to emerge as next ‘growth engine’ of India’s economy by attracting big-ticket investments and also generating lakhs of employment opportunities.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday took to his personal Twitter handle and informed that PM MITRA mega textile parks will soon be set up in 7 states namely Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh & Uttar Pradesh.

These mega textile parks are being set up under the 5 F vision i.e. Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign. Once set in motion, these Textile parks will get the much needed fillip to India’s Textiles sector and will become a key constituent of growth.


In a tweet further, PM Modi said that as the Textile Parks will be equipped with state-of-the art infrastructure, it will attract investments worth many crores and will also generate jobs for lakhs of aspirants.

“It will be great example of Make In India and Make for the World,” he tweeted.


What is PM MITRA mega textile parks Yojana?

PM MITRA mega textile parks Yojana is yet another step towards realizing the dream of Atmanirbhar Bharat, as imagined by Narendra Modi govt. With this scheme, the government aims to multiply the horizons of India’s textiles sector and make it more competitive to global counterparts.

The 5F vision will drive the sector, as it encompasses all stages of textile production – Farm to fibre; fibre to factory; factory to fashion; fashion to foreign.

With this scheme, the government intends to develop integrated large scale & modern infrastructural facilities, where all value-chain of the Textile industry could co-exist and in turn, churn out much more than what they could do earlier. The establishment of Mega Textile parks will also reduce logistics costs & increase competitiveness of the Indian Textile industry.
