
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday received the first Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award with a cash prize of Rs 1 Lakh. However, he wrote a letter to Mangeshkar for permission to donate the cash prize to a charity. After the permission, the cash money was donated in a charity fund.
”Our Trust has decided to donate it to the PM Cares Fund,” said Hridayanth Mangeshkar, musician and younger brother of singing legend, late Lata Mangeshkar.

Writing a letter to Hridaynath Mangeshkar, PM Modi, ”The award came with a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh as well. May I request to donate the proceedings to any charitable institution of your choice? This amount could be used to bring a positive differnce in the live of others, someting Lata Didi always wanted to do.”
