PM Modi flags off Vande Bharat Express connecting Howrah to NJP, seeks apology from the people of Bengal

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today flagged off Vande Bharat Express connecting Howrah to NJP via video conferencing.

New Delhi: PM Modi today flagged off Vande Bharat Express connecting Howrah to NJP via video conferencing today. This is nation’s seventh Vande Bharat express train.

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, Union railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw & other leaders present at the event in Howrah.

The Vande Bharat train is scheduled to run six days a week except on Wednesdays. According to the reports, the train will depart at 5.50 am from Howrah and reach NJP at 1.25 pm.

While from NJP, the Vande Bharat train will depart at 3.05 pm and reach Howrah at 10.35 pm.

PM Modi attended today’s event after performing his mother Heeraben Modi’s last rites. She died today at the age of 100 in Ahmedabad at the UN Mehta hospital in Ahmedabad. She was admitted to the hospital two days ago.

While addressing the event, PM Modi said that he was supposed to come to West Bengal but due to personal reasons, he could not come there.

He also apologised to the people of Bengal for not being able to be present there in person.

PM Modi said Central govt is making record investments to modernise Indian Railways. He also mentioned modern trains like Vande Bharat express, Tejas express, and Humsafar express are being made in India.

He said in the next 8 yrs, India will see railways on a new journey of modernisation.

While CM Mamata Banerjee  thanked PM Modi on behalf of the people of West Bengal. She said it’s a sad day for you. She also prayed to God to grant PM Modi with strength so that he continue his work. She also asked him to take some rest.
