PM Modi hugely popular in Bengal, admits Prashant Kishor in ‘leaked’ audio tape

The clips were released as the polling for the fourth phase of elections began in West Bengal on Saturday. Four more phases are due before the results will be declared on May 2.

New Delhi: Citing purported conversation between election strategist Prashant Kishor and a group of journalists, BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya on Saturday tweeted that TMC has conceded defeat in Bengal assembly polls.

Mamata Banerjee’s poll strategist is also heard saying in the video that PM Modi is immensely popular figure, even in Bengal and his mass appeal is decisively mobilising people towards the saffron party.

“Internal survey of Trinamool Congress (TMC) is showing that the saffron party is winning the assembly elections,” the poll strategist purportedly said in the leaked audio tape.

Amit Malviya tweeted 4 clips of PK’s audio tape with a group of journalists on Clubhouse app. Quoting Kishor, Malviya pointed out that PM Modi’s appeal, anti-incumbency against TMC govt, “Muslim appeasement” of political parties in Bengal over the years and the Dalit vote are likely to work in favour of the BJP.

“In a public chat on Club House, Mamata Banerjee’s election strategist concedes that even in TMC’s internal surveys, BJP is winning. The vote is for Modi, polarisation is a reality, the SCs (27% of WB’s population), Matuas are all voting for the BJP!” tweeted Malviya.

Kishor replies with ‘dare’, says ‘release full chat’

Reacting to the leaked audio tape, Kishor said, “I am glad BJP guys are taking my clubhouse chat more seriously than the words or their own leaders. With regards to the selective and distorted use of part of the conversation, I urge them to release the full conversation.”

“They should show courage and share the full chat instead of getting excited with selective use of parts of it. I have said this before and repeating again – BJP will not cross 100 in West Bengal. Period,” he added.
