PM Modi in UP for Investors Summit, to lay foundation stone of projects worth Rs 80,000 crore

The first Investor Summit was held in February 2018 while the second Summit was organised the subsequent year in 2019.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Lucknow this morning for the ground breaking ceremony of UP Investors Summit. The Summit will see participation of many industry bigwigs and the state is likely to get proposals & pledges for many big-ticket investments in the state.

This is the first Investors Summit in the Yogi government 2.0 and is aimed at taking the state towards ‘industrial revolution’. Under CM Yogi, the state has laid extra emphasis on developing a congenial environment for setting up industries & also on nurturing a workforce for enterprises.

During the ceremony, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone of 1,406 projects worth over Rs 80,000 crore. These projects are in various sectors including agriculture and allied, IT and Electronics, MSME, Pharma, Tourism, Defence and Aerospace, Handloom and Textiles, Manufacturing, Renewable Energy etc.

After this, PM Modi will visit Kanpur’s Paraunkh village and will accompany President Ram Nath Kovind for paying obeisance at Pathri Mata Mandir. PM Modi and the President will also attend a public function at Paraunkh village from around 2:30 pm.

The first Investor Summit was held in February 2018 while the second Summit was organised the subsequent year in 2019. The foundation stone of 81 projects worth Rs over Rs 61,500 crore was laid during the 2018 ground-breaking ceremony. In the second ceremony, foundation stone of 290 projects worth over Rs 67,000 crore was laid.
