PM Modi, Oli jointly inaugurate Jogbani-Biratnagar check post, launch development projects

The check post has been built with India’s assistance in a bid to facilitate trade and people’s movement between two countries, PMO India had said in a tweet.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi jointly inaugurated the second Integrated Check Post (ICP) at Jogbani-Biratnagar today with Prime Minister of Nepal, K.P. Oli. The second Integrated Check Post at Jogbani-Biratnag is built with Indian assistance to facilitate trade and people’s movement across India-Nepal border.

What PM Modi said:

Both Prime Ministers also witnessed the remarkable progress in the Government of India assisted post-earthquake housing reconstruction projects in Nepal. Out of GoI’s commitment to build 50,000 houses in Gorkha and Nuwakot districts, 45,000 have already been completed.

What Nepal, K.P. Oli said

Nepal PM KP Sharma Oli after inauguration said,” The time has come to resolve all pending issues through dialogue in the lasting interest of our two countries. Stable&majority government in both countries is an opportune moment. My govt remains committed to working closely with govt of India towards this.”

Committed to simplify and ease traffic

PM Narendra Modi said,” India is committed to simplify and ease traffic with all friendly countries in the neighborhood and to further facilitate contacts between us in areas such as business, culture, education, etc. “

The Indian government had committed to building as many as 50,000 houses in Gorkha and Nuwakot districts, of which 45,000 have already been built.
