PM Modi’s 4th interaction with CMs in lockdown: This is what Chief Ministers said

New Delhi: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today interacted with Chief Ministers of states via video conferencing to discuss the emerging situation and also to lay out plan for tackling the COVID-19 pandemic. This was the fourth such interaction of the Prime Minister with the Chief Ministers, the earlier ones being held on 20th March, 2nd April and 11th April, 2020..

As per top official sources, this is what the Chief Ministers told PM Modi via Video Conferencing.

ML Khattar, Haryana CM

Manohar Lal Khattar impressed upon the PM Modi about Covid-19 situation in the state and how mandis operations have been streamlined to maintain social distancing. He also informed the PM about an App through which about 20 public services are being provided.

Vijay Rupani, Gujarat CM

Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani updated the Prime Minister about Covid-19 testing rate in the state and also elaborated about treatment of Corona patients in the state.

Jai Ram Thakur, Himachal CM

Himachal Chief Minister praised the Prime Minister for his decisive and visionary leadership in such pressing times. He said that the country has largely managed to contain the pandemic because the Centre implemented the lockdown at ‘right time’.

Trivendra Singh Rawat, Uttarakhand CM

Uttarakhand Chief Minister also apprised the Prime Minister of Covid-19 situation in his state and also state govt’s preparedness in tackling the pandemic. He also informed the Prime Minister about opening of Gangotri and Yamunotri portals.

Naveen Patnaik, Odisha CM

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik enumerated the steps taken by state government in containing the spread of Covid-19 pandemic in the state.
“I’ve demanded that lockdown should continue otherwise we can’t face these things in Odisha. Let it be one month more, then, we will see what is going on: Odisha Health Minister Naba Das said, who was present along with Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik at the meeting.

Conrad Sangma, Meghalaya CM

Meghalaya Chief Minister showered praised on PM Modi for strong leadership in times of pandemic. He also advocated for extension of the lockdown after May 3.
“At the meeting, we have mooted to continue with the lockdown post May 3rd with relaxation on activities in Green Zones or Non-Covid affected districts in Meghalaya,” the CM said.

Nitish Kumar, Bihar CM

Nitish Kumar raised the issue of some Bihar students stranded in Rajasthan’s Kota district and called for a Central policy on bringing back the residents of state.
“Disaster Management rules clearly restrict inter-state and inter-district movement, still many state govts have called back their students but we are waiting for a Central policy in this direction,” Bihar CM said.
