Police discovers hand pump dispensing liquor during raid in village at Guna [WATCH]

A video of the officials dispensing liquor from the handpump connected with the illegal drums is currently doing round on social media

New Delhi: Madhya Pradesh police made an unexpected discovery on Wednesday as they found a hand pump dispensing liquor instead of water during a raid. The engineering marvel came to the fore when a police team raided a suspected liquor den in Guna district of the state.

On further investigation, the police found the source of the liquor spouting out of the handpump, which was the eight barrels of liquor buried deep inside the ground. The barrels were buried at a distance from the houses of the accused, who had connected them with the hand pump for their convenience.

“A hand pump attached with the drums of raw liquor hidden underground was also recovered. When police personnel started pumping it, liquor started coming out from the other end (joined by a pipe)”,Pankaj Shrivastava, Guna superintendent of police was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.

“They were using a hand pump to extract liquor from the drums, which was subsequently poured into pouches and five-litre cans”, the police added.

Meanwhile, eight suspects have been identified in the case and a search has been initiated to nab them. The accused reportedly escaped when the police team arrived at the spot.
