According to accounts, a madly in love couple from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, married to separate people, resolved to die together. What follows could be the basis for a Bollywood film.
Because they couldn’t live together due to societal obligations, the pair chose to leap into the Yamuna together. And here’s the unexpected twist: while the woman went ahead and performed it, Chandu (the lover) did not.
The woman returned, shocked and betrayed, to teach Chandu a lesson. How? She swam to safety and filed a police report against her lover.
The event occurred on May 29, and circle officer Santosh Singh investigated it further. An FIR has reportedly been filed against Chandu for attempting to murder the woman and damaging her cellphone.
According to accounts, the woman had been in a long-term relationship with Chandu. She went to Pune with her six-year-old daughter a few months ago and discovered yet another twist.
Chandu was hesitant to keep his commitments, and the couple eventually agreed to die together on the New Yamuna Bridge. The woman said that her lover did not join her in jumping. She managed to swim back to the riverbank and was taken to a hospital by the Kydganj police.
