New Delhi: The Permanent Mission of India and BAPS organised a program to celebrate the centennial birth anniversary of Pramukh Swami Maharaj at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. The theme of the program was ‘The World is One Family’ and was organised to honour Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s legacy. The Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations, Ruchira Kamboj, along with the members of the Permanent Mission of India, excellencies, BAPS volunteers and ambassadors and representatives from across the globe took part in the program.
Dr Kashyap Patel, a BAPS volunteer and cardiologist, inaugurated the event and welcomed the guests. Pujya Anandswarup Swami virtually attended the event and gave an insight into Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s faith in the all-doers of God which enabled him to see God in all. He also talked about Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s enlightened spirituality.
Her Excellency Mrs Ruchira Kamboj also addressed the gathering and said that she was honoured to host this program. In her addressal, she said that Swamiji’s life is a message to humanity, also it is a message of oneness, goodness, and a message to celebrate peace and harmony.
Bawa Jain, the Secretary-General for the World Council of Religious Leaders and Founder and the President of The Centre for Responsible Leadership, shared some stories of him with Pramukh Swami Maharaj. Delegates from various countries who attended the program also received a booklet about the life and work of Pramukh Swami Maharaj and a special memento. Each guest also got an invitation to the centennial celebrations in Ahmedabad.
