President Ram Nath Kovind, PM Modi greet nation on Janmashtami

 It is usually observed on the eighth day (ashtami) of the Krishna Paksha in the month of Sharavan or Bhadrapad. This year, Janmashtami celebrations which began yesterday, with many people also likely to celebrate it today.

New Delhi: President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended greetings to citizens on the occasion of Janmashtami.

“Greetings on Janmashtami! Lord Krishna’s message of Karmayoga is a call to focus on our responsibilities rather than caring for rewards. This spirit has been evident in the working of all our Corona warriors. May Lord Krishna bless everyone with good health and prosperity,” he tweeted.

Taking to Twitter PM Modi wrote,”Best wishes on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami. Jai Shri Krishna”.

Janmashtami marks the birth of Lord Krishna, is being celebrated across the country today. The devotees will visit the temples to offer prayers to Lord Krishna.
