New Delhi: Main accused of the Ratlam triple murder was shot dead in an encounter in Madhya Pradesh’s Ratlam. Five policemen were injured in the encounter.

The accused, Dilip Dewal, a resident of Dahod in Gujarat, had been facing six murder cases filed in several states.
In Ratlam, three members of a family – a man, his wife and daughter – were shot dead at their house on November 25 when people were busy celebrating chhoti Diwali.
Taking to Twitter, Shivraj Singh Chauhan said:
अभी थोड़ी देर पहले रतलाम ट्रिपल मर्डर केस का मुख्य आरोपी दिलीप देवल पुलिस के साथ मुठभेड़ में मारा गया।
मैंने पुलिस को सख़्त निर्देश दिए थे की ऐसे नरपिशाच को समाज में रहने का कोई अधिकार नहीं है। उसे जल्द से जल्द पकड़ा जाए।

जब पुलिस टीम उसे पकड़ने गयी तो उसने टीम पर गोलियाँ चलाई और हमारे बहादुर जवानों ने उसका मुंहतोड़ जवाब दिया।
हमारे कुछ पुलिसकर्मी इस मुठभेड़ में घायल भी हुए है। मैं उनके शीघ्रातिशीघ्र ठीक होने की कामना करता हूँ।

Three others – Anuraag Mehar, 25; Gaurav Bilwal, 22, and Lala Bhabhor, 20 – have been arrested for the murders.
The police in a statement said Dewal was a “psycho killer” who targeted houses owned by the elderly. He would kill them to ensure no witnesses remain.
