Punjab assembly elections: Capt Amarinder Singh announces alliance with BJP, says ‘Our aim is to win and we will’

In the 2017 Punjab Assembly polls, Congress won an absolute majority in the state by winning 77 seats and ousted the SAD-BJP government after 10 years.

New Delhi: Captain Amarinder Singh has announced alliance with Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) for the upcoming Punjab Assembly Elections 2022.

Captain Amarinder Singh, who has recently floated the Punjab Lok Congress party said that a decision has been taken, now seat adjustment is to be done.We’ll also do seat adjustments with Dhindsa sahab’s party.I’ll tell both parties that we should pick winners, support those candidates.

He further said that the main aim of the alliance is to win Punjab assembly elections and we will.

Aam Aadmi Party emerged as the second-largest party winning 20 seats in 117-member Punjab Legislative Assembly. The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) could only manage to win 15 seats while the BJP secured 3 seats.
