Punjab Cong crisis: Will Sidhu say ‘sorry’ to placate Captain? Latter bent on public apology

New Delhi: Even though the Congress has appointed Navjot Singh Sidhu as president of the Punjab Congress the tussle between Punjab CM and him is still not over.

On the other hand, Senior Punjab Cabinet Minister Brahm Mohindra welcomed the appointment of Navjot Singh Sidhu as the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president but ruled out a personal meeting with him till he resolves his issues with Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh.

In a statement issued here, Brahm Mohindra said the decision to appoint Sidhu had been taken by the high command and is welcomed.

“However, I will not meet him (Sidhu) till he meets the Chief Minister and resolves his issues with him”, said Mohindra adding that Captain Amarinder Singh is the leader of the Congress legislative party and he (Mohindra) is duty-bound to follow him.

Black flags shown to Navjot Singh Sidhu in Punjab

Black flags were shown to newly-inducted Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu on his arrival at Bhagat Singh Marg in Ludhiana’s Nawanshahr.

“A farmers organisation was protesting against farm laws and wanted to question Sidhu. The Congress was on the other side and wanted to avoid clashes. No lathi-charge was enforced on the protestors,” said, Avtar Singh, SHO, Banga.
