Rahul evades questions on Sibal’s searing remark on Gandhis, dodges cameras (VIDEO)

The searing remarks have led to a huge uproar within the party rank & file as family loyalists had reaffirmed their faith in the Gandhis at the CWC meet.

New Delhi: Rahul Gandhi had an uncomfortable moment before the cameras today morning, as he was asked about senior Cong leader Kapil Sibal’s caustic criticism of the Gandhis.

Kapil Sibal, in an interview to a leading daily, stepped up the heat on Gandhis for party’s drubbing in all 5 states that went to polls and called for their stepping down. The searing remarks have led to a huge uproar within the party rank & file as family loyalists had reaffirmed their faith in the Gandhis at the CWC meet.

Rahul Gandhi, when arrived in the Parliament was questioned about Sibal’s ‘Ghar ki Congress vs Sabki Congress’ remark. In spite of making any comment, he chose to dodge the cameras and simply walked away towards the house. While moving away, Rahul’s ‘eye connect’ said enough about the unease within the party.

The fresh onslaught on the first family of Congress by Kapil Sibal, one of the leading voices of the G-23 group, comes months after the group called for sweeping changes & organisational shake-up of the grand old party.

Rahul and Priyanka, the Gandhi siblings have come under direct scrutiny over the party’s poor show in all 5 states. Under their leadership, the party not only failed to cash in on the anti-incumbency in BJP ruled states but also suffered an ignominious defeat in Punjab, its only ruled state.

Punjab Congress leader Sunil Jakhad also came out heavily at the high command for bungling up the party’s election preparation, months ahead of Assembly elections.
