Rain brings respite from severe heat in national capital, Delhiites trends #DelhiRains on Twitter

Air quality index (AQI) in the region was marked in the satisfactory category i.e. 85, as per the Central Pollution Control Board

New Delhi: Heavy rains lash parts of the national capital on Saturday, bringing instant relief from days-long scorching heat and humidity.

While the maximum temperature in and around Delhi was recorded at around 38 degrees Celsius, while the lowest of that was recorded at 28.3 degrees Celsius, which happens to be just a mark above normal.

The weather forecast has predicted rain showers in various parts of Delhi for the next few days along with lightning and thunderstorms.

As the weather took a pleasant road in the national capital, Delhiites were overwhelmed with the first blessing of Monsoon and took to the microblogging site Twitter to share pleasing pics and video clips of Delhi rains.

A Twitter user named Sagar Srivastava shared an endearing pic from behind the windshields of his car with drops of dew on the outer surface. “Most awaited rain, finally a relief”, he wrote in caption.

“Respite from the sweltering heat! Thank God for small mercies”, wrote another user while posting a video of driving amidst rain.
