Rajasthan: Hindu boy stabbed to death in Bhilwara, city tensed; Internet services suspended

The right-wing outfits have taken the Gehlot administration to task and demanded exemplary action against culprits and not just lip-service.

New Delhi: In a fresh incident of communal strife in Rajasthan, a 22-year old youth was stabbed to death by unidentified assailants last evening. Youth named Adarsh Tapadia was grievously injured in the knife attack and succumbed to injuries. While he was taken to district hospital, doctors declared him dead. Tension has gripped the city, following which state govt has imposed an internet ban in the city till tomorrow.

Last night, the 22 year old Hindu boy was allegedly stabbed by people belonging to other community. The dispute reportedly happened over some money and resulted in the murder of boy. Communal unrest has gripped the city with members of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Hindu Jagran Manch taking strong objection to ‘targeted killing’ of the boy and have called for Bhilwara bandh.

Bhilwara

This is not the first communal incident in Bhilwara town. Days ago, people from two communities had engaged in communal clashes, however it didn’t blow up and was brought under control. 2 people were injured in clashes & bikes were set ablaze.

Meanwhile, the right-wing outfits have taken the Gehlot administration to task and demanded exemplary action against culprits and not just lip-service. They also threatened the administration that deceased’s body will not be cremated until the accused are arrested. An ex-gratia of Rs 50 lakhs has also been sought.

Prior to Bhilwara, communal clashes have broken out at several places in Rajasthan in past few weeks. It all started with stone-pelting during Hindu New year procession by other community, followed by communal strife in Alwar, Jodhpur and Jhalawar. Other than this, repeated incidents of crimes & harassment against Dalit community, rape incidents continue to expose the underbelly of Congress-ruled state, a charge Gehlot administration refuses to accept & acknowledge.
