New Delhi: In a rare display of governance, Rajasthan tourism minister Vishvendra Singh on Friday took to Twitter and expressed his displeasure over the functioning of tourism department of the state. He not only castigated the officials of tourism department but also wrote on Twitter that CM Ashok Gehlot should take action against errant officials.
The Minister posted a series of tweets, in which he highlighted the shortcomings of his own department and also the indifferent behavior of department officials.
Minister’s claims shows Gehlot govt’s inefficiency
The minister highlighted the fact that not a single new tourist guide has been recruited since the Gehlot-led government came to power and the department has not been able to bag even a solitary Swadesh Darshan project of the Union Ministry of Tourism.
The officials are groping in the dark as to what should be the path towards the revival of tourism post #Covid19 and no effort has been made to include the participation of stakeholders from the private sector, despite my efforts in this regard.

On Twitter, Minister asks CM to act against erring staff
He urged CM Gehlot to take harsh action against the errant tourism department officials in a bid to save the livelihoods of lakhs of people who are engaged in the sector and allied industries.
Rajasthan is one of the hard-hit states by Coronavirus. The Covid-19 had dealt a direct blow to tourism industry, which is apparently the mainstay of the state economy.
