The Minister posted a series of tweets, in which he highlighted the shortcomings of his own department and also the indifferent behavior of department officials.

Minister’s claims shows Gehlot govt’s inefficiency

The minister highlighted the fact that not a single new tourist guide has been recruited since the Gehlot-led government came to power and the department has not been able to bag even a solitary Swadesh Darshan project of the Union Ministry of Tourism.

He claimed that officials are clueless and groping in the dark over the revival of tourism industry. Further putting the blame on them, he said that officials are hesitant and unwilling to invite private stakeholders despite his personal endeavour to do the same.

On Twitter, Minister asks CM to act against erring staff

He urged CM Gehlot to take harsh action against the errant tourism department officials in a bid to save the livelihoods of lakhs of people who are engaged in the sector and allied industries.

Rajasthan is one of the hard-hit states by Coronavirus. The Covid-19 had dealt a direct blow to tourism industry, which is apparently the mainstay of the state economy.
