1st meet of Ram Mandir Trust: Nritya Gopal Das elected president, Champat Rai general secy

The 15-member trust was formed in adherence to the Supreme Court verdict on the Ayodhya dispute in November last year.

New Delhi: The first meeting of the Ram Mandir Trust to oversee the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya was held in New Delhi today.

The trust has decided that a Committee will be formed to decide on the construction of the temple. Nripendra Misra, former principal secretary of Prime Minister Modi will be the head of the temple construction committee.

Ram Mandir Trust - 1st meeting --

In the meeting, Mahant Nritya Gopal Das was elected as the president of the Trust whereas Champat Rai would be the general secretary. The trust has been mandated by the Central Government to complete the construction of Ram temple at Ayodhya.

In the first meeting, the Trust was expected to finalise the date to start the construction of the Ram Temple. However, the sources have said that the trust has established a Nirman Samiti (construction committee), which will be led by retired IAS officer, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s former principal secretary Nripendra Mishra.

“After 15 days, this trust will meet again in Ayodhya, then we will be in a position to announce the date of the construction,” a source in the trust said.
