When should we recite Ramayana? 

You can recite Ramayana at any time of the day, morning or evening. You must wear clean clothes and take an aasan. You should also have a Rehal on which you will place the Ramayana and an idol of Ram Darbar. Do not forget to keep some water in a kalash. Start reciting with remembering Lord Ganesha, also remember Lord Ram Stuti and Lord Hanuman and start.

You can also begin by reciting one and two pages in the beginning and make sure to put a book mark on the page where you finish. Make sure you touch the Holy Book with clean hands.

Next day you can again start from where you left yesterday. People who consume onion and garlic must take a shower in the evening or morning before reciting Ramayana. People who eat onion or garlic and read Ramayana won’t get any good results.

Everyday after finishing reciting Ramayana, you must offer aarti to Lord Ram with Kapur. Make sure you wrap the Ramayana in a red cloth and keep it safely. You should not forget to keep the aasan at a proper place.
